Maybe the world hasn't been sitting on edge waiting and hoping for this new SOLOIST to appear, but as a player who constantly thinks about working towards bettering not only my creative and technical skills, I have yearned for decades for a BETTER SOUND from all of my equipment. The traditional "harmon" mutes never pleased me. I tended to withdraw from that thin "tin-like" sound that they produced. I was very fort unate that one of my former students, Terry Baylor, was in the business of prototype building. I explained the mute dilemma to him and he expressed a strong interest in helping me. The result is the SOLOIST! We are extremely pleased with the way it has turned out and we hope you agree!
